Texas Roofeer:

I’m sorry to tell you this, but you’re wrong on one point. The Vatican, and the USCCB, made it pretty clear that voting for a PRO-ABORTION Politician, when a PRO-LIFE POLITICIAN is available IS A SIN, because you were participating in the evil that politician is supporting. Now, I know some people have claimed one could vote for a Pro-Abortion Politician without sinning if there were “Proportionate Reasons” for doing so. Pope Benedict XVI’s reply (as well as that of the USCCB) has been to ask what issues are proportionate to the Slaughter of the Innocent Unborn, which the Church has taught is Evil in and of Itself and NEVER is an issue of Prudential Judgment.

I suggest you go argue with this one with our Lord and with the People He has anointed to lead His Church.

Your Brother in Christ, Michael
hi Traditional Ang (Michael)

I think the Moderators have made it clear they do not wish to allow that discussion in this thread, however in another thread or through email I would be happy to help you understand the church teachings. From this thread within the limits the Mods are allowing I would ask you to consider the concept of abandoning other catholic teachings because someone voted against your (or his desire). I have read your posts and finding nothing new in the approach you choose. I do see error in these posts, and we can pursue that elsewhere if you would like. I understand your post to the OP and agree the church has taught and practiced once ordained a presumption of always ordained until the church official decrees otherwise. You did not mention a recent history of attempts to rehabilitate some priest who directly sinned against children. Those priests often were returned to the alter after rehabilitation treatments. I have often heard as have others of Priest who committed sins with women and returned to the alter typically in another Parish. It is odd we hear so few question receiving then, but they now find themself in an unbearable condition.

What about a Pastor who contributed hundreds of dollars to get Obama elected?
Not learned via gossip but part of local public record … We wish to thank Rev so-and-so, pastor of so-and-so Catholic Church, for donating $750.00
We use to go to this parish when we couldn’t make mass at our regular parish but after learning this …

It is NOT your position to judge your priest. Just go to Communion and leave the rest in God’s hands.

It is up to you if you want to receive from him or not but even if a Priest has a grave sin on his soul when celebrating Mass but says the correct words at the consecration the Mass is valid, so it is up to you who you receive from. I myself would go to someone else unless he is the only one distributing communion then it is up to you not to cause and more suspicion to his voting practices by not receiving from him.
