Should I stop wearing my Brown Scapular?

are chaste according to their position in life

This is part of wearing the scapular but as my wife is with holding sex and has for a while and I dont know when if ever it will happen again how on earth do I stay chaste? I have no interest in adultery but in shear desperation I will end up masturbating and itis depressing having to got to confession everytime for the same sin that I cannot conquer. I have prayed that my wife opens her heart and stops keeping herself from me.

Also I miss the unity and obviously the pleasure but every night I am woken up by being turned on and hold erections for hours.

So if I cannot remain chaste as much as I try am I bringing the scapular into disrepute?

Since you are not telling anyone but your confessor about masturbation I don’t see how it you could bring the sacramental disrepute. However, if you stop wearing it and practicing the devotion you will lose opportunities for grace. Are you praying the rosary? It’s effective for overcoming sins like this.
 
Every time you are tempted pray the Rosary.

Satan knows the situation and is going to use it to tempt you. You are up against your own flesh AND Satan.

I am in a similar situation. I came back to the Church and my wife won’t marry me in it, so I actually have to be the one to refuse any kind of marital relations. We are not married until God says so, and He doesn’t say so until His Church does. I won’t commit a willful sin, so I won’t have sex.

Satan has often tempted me because of this situation. God has given me grace to overcome. Since my abstinence began back in July, by God’s grace I have not confessed masturbation, adultery, or fornication. I confessed doubtful lust, and it was very doubtful.

Really, once you get past the masturbation, you will be fighting strong temptations to lust. You are going to need to pray, A LOT, if you want to remain in a state of grace.

Did you know that when we are in a state of grace and resist a temptation, we gain merit and therefore greater glory in Heaven - and that is EVERY TIME we resist a temptation. The stronger the temptation, I would imagine the more merit we gain, but I could be wrong. This is my understanding. I should double check. I think this will help both of us. Do not be deceived by the Devil,** you could go the rest of your life without willfully committing a grave sin ever again**. If you persevere in prayer and ask God for faith and perseverance, it can happen. Eternity is forever.

Always wear the Scapular! It is in our weakness that we are strong, we are called to perseverance and hope not despair and defeat! I find the Jesus Prayer helpful “Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me a sinner!” over and over again I pray. Spend silent time in front of the blessed sacrament from five to thirty minutes maybe longer. I also recommend finding an activity like daily running or some kind of exercise as penance. Along with prayer, fasting is an extremely powerful coupler. A great suggestion of mine is fasting from meat, a more aggressive fast may be a vegan diet. Whatever you do, I recommend a spiritual director. This all coming from someone who has wrestled with a similar cross for a very long time.

So now that you need grace all the more, you would remove something that helps dispose you to grace and help you persevere in your trial?

Keep that scapular on!
 
I couldnt even sleep last night. One of my medications is testosterone as I cannot produce any hormones. I have the correct dosage but my body cant seem to switch off down there even if I dont think about sex. I sleep for a few minutez then wake up over and over constantly turned on. Its not nice. If I were to stop taking my medication it would have severe consequences.

Even this morning getting breakfasts ready and getting ready for work it is still switched on and wont stop. I want to cry. No matter how many times I pray it wont stop.

I doubt there is a patron saint for this sort of thing is there?

You need to talk to your physician about this. Don’t just assume there is nothing that can’t be done without checking it out. This is ruining your life.
 
Do not stop wearing your scapular.

We do not wear it because we are virtuous, we wear it out of devotion to our Blessed Mother, and because we are sinners in need of help. Wearing your scapular when you are tempted to sin will help you resist, and if you do sin then the shame you may feel as a result of sinning in this way while wearing the scapular may well help strengthen your resolve not to do so again.

Keep wearing your scapular.
