Thanks Fidelis and mercygate. I’ll be sure to keep you up to date. The class starts next Monday. Thanks to everyone for your prayer.

Last night was the first meeting of RCIA. I received two books; “The Essential Catechism”, and “The World Among Us”. The instructor also read from the Catechism. The first night went well, and the priest seems like a nice man as well. He said we can ask him as many questions as we want. I intend to take advantage of his offer.

Well, Juxtaposer, you really *are *a man with a mission! When I first saw your OP I thought “I don’t know about all this,” because I haven’t read very many of your posts on here before. Ignorant Catholic that I am I also thought RCIA was only for those who were totally sure they wanted or needed to become Catholic, even though I took RCIA as an adult for Confirmation since I was never catechized as a child. I learned a lot from this thread already, and I am especially happy to know that any inquiring mind may sign up for RCIA. That is a great way to really learn about our Catholic faith, so good for you! There is so much to learn and it is a very interesting process. I think it’s awesome you signed up for it, Juxtaposer. May you feel Our Lord’s presence whenever you are in class! And I hope you keep us all posted about how it goes! Many blessings to you.

I just want to echo the sentiments of the rest of the responses so far. Just let yourself go and learn as much as you can. Ask ALL the questions you want; don’t be shy. (although as far as I see on the boards here, you’re not shy. 😉 👍

I wish you the best of luck in your quest.

:blessyou:
