Hi there, I have recently renewed my Catholic faith. I have been taking the body of Christ on Sundays at Church and have not had communion or confession. My mother said it was ok to take it as I have been baptised but in reading on this subject, I am confused. I want to do the right thing and would appreciate an answer. God Bless.

Hi yourself,

If you have not received your first Holy Communion, you haven’t received instructions on what the Eucharist is and what a Catholic’s responsibilities are regarding it. It sounds like your mother needs such instruction as well.

You also need instruction on the sacrament of Penance which is commonly called Confession.

So no, you are not ready to receive the Body of Christ yet. You need to see your priest about getting the proper instructions. You are in our prayers. You can write me privately here by just clicking on my name.
