If this person is merely an acquaintance, I’m not sure you have sufficient knowledge or authority to take the chance of ruining this person’s life – particularly since you may well be misinformed as to what’s happening. I’m not sure what you mean when you say that “there is a way I could do it confidentially,” but if that means that you could anonymously drop a bombshell within this couple’s marriage and walk away without giving the accused the ability to defend himself or herself against your accusations, then I cannot recommend that you take such a course. If there is sufficient cause to reveal the information that you have, then you should not hide behind anonymity to either party.
