Should my daughter wear a white dress for her Baptism?

Hello my daughter Ava is five years old and will be getting Baptised this Sunday and I want to have her wear a white dress. I have been told by a few people that she should not wear a white dress. I would like to know if it is appropriate if I put a white dress on my child. I would appreciate an answer because I am unsure of what to do.
