Should my Husband become a Priest?

My brother in law knows a man who will wake his wife up in the middle of the night and make her say a rosary. She will do it too.
My BIL isn’t sure if she is a saint or a doormat (but he thinks the man is nuts).

As for obeying all the Old Testament laws - ummm, doesn’t your hubby know that we don’t have to do that anymore?

Exactly Biblioassistant. If you want to be Catholic, follow Catholicism. I would suggest he read the catechism - first section to read would be on marriage.

This thread is 2 1/2 years old. Samaritan Woman, I hope everything worked out for you & your marriage. Prayers offered up. :crossrc:

Since my husband’s (?) re-birth to his Catholic roots, he’s become - shall I soften it and call it - SERIOUS. He attends numerous masses daily, observes almost every old testament law and the Lord’s Day is treated like a Jewish Sabbath = no work. there’s the 3:00 PM Mercy Chaplet hour and the daily Rosary and 1/2 hour Bible reading to do. It has been a terribly hard life. This has been building for 3 years now. My loving husband calls me the devil for not wanting to get up early on a vacation day to attend a daily mass. He’s going to drive me insane. He gets very upset with the Liturgical abuses he sees up at the altars daily and has even written to the Bishop. I just believe that this man can be a priest if he’ll only renounce me and pick up the collar. He used to be loving and gentle and kind. I miss my husband.
I can say this because I’ve been through this phase: Your husband’s a fanatic. Simple as that. He suffers from OCD and needs to get smacked hard (not by you, by life). That’s what it took for me to leave (I still fight it from day to day) my fanatical ways behind. I pray that your husband doesn’t become a priest. He would be an absolute tyrant and would simple drive people away from the faith.
