Should my wife and I stand, sit, and bow during night prayer?

My wife and I pray night prayer together. She feels it unnecessary to pray “in choirs”, as it were, because it’s just the two of us, or to stand or sit at the appointed times, or bow at the invocation of the Trinity, etc.; we simply sit together and one of us prays the prayers for the day. I would like to do those things, because I believe posture of prayer is important, but I don’t mind not doing them for her sake. Surely the prayer isn’t any less valid or efficacious for our lack of participation as if we were praying in community, but is there any recommendation that we should?

Since you are essentially undertaking a private devotion to pray Night Prayers then you are free to choose whatever posture you feel is conducive to your prayers.
