Should prostitution be legalized?

I think it is a difficult decision because whether prostitution is legalized or not, there is still rule-breaking.

If so just to be made safer. Structure it to test for and prevent diseases. And maybe tax it. 😅

No, it shouldn’t.

As we’ve seen with abortion, legalization equates to morality in the minds of many people. They substitute the state for God, and derive their morality from legality. As such, if it were legalized we would likely see a significant increase in the use of prostitutes, meanings that there would be an even greater number of souls on the precipice of damnation.

In fairness, I’ve never met anyone who thought abortion was ok because it was legal.
 
It’s kind odd that criminalization of prostitution is almost exclusively an anglo-saxan problem.
Prostitution was never a crime in most Catholic countries (all Latin America, Portugal, Spain etc.)
 
I’ve never understood why it’s illegal to sell something that’s legal to give away for free
 
Human law should derive from God’s law. It is against God’s law, so it should be against human law. In secular states, it is hard to conform God’s law to human law.

Then you are fortunate, because I have. I’ve had people tell me it’s legal, so I should shut up about it…
 
yes, if a consenting adults come to an agreement that is their business.
 
So we should have laws to punish people who violate the Sabbath, for instance?
 
So should extramarital sex be illegal too? Because that’s what’s illegal about prostitution.
 
To legalize something only means that the government will tax it and take a share of the transaction. It shouldn’t be legalized. Government should not be involved with it at all.
 
God is the One that can destroy both soul and body in hell (Mt 10:28). This is my two-cent definition of God…
 
If a woman can get into prostitution whenever she wants and get out whenever she wants, then it’s not a coercive situation. I would guess that most prostitution occurs from either human trafficking or pimp-instigated drug addiction, so it would therefore be coercive.

For this reason, I do not support laws that punish the prostitutes. I do support what they’re doing in Sweden by punishing the clients. Sweden's Prostitution Solution: Why Hasn't Anyone Tried
 
Yeah, The Worlds Oldest Profession ain’t going away. So it might be a decent idea to make it cleaner and safer and, above all, completely consensual if it’s going to be part of reality.
 
At least the my body my choice argument has some validity there and with porn being legal there is a definite disconnect.

Not saying it should be legal but there is a major disconnect.
