Sticker point:Hammers? Nah, all the same, so I go to the cheapest place.
I bought a hammer at walmart after I got a house 5 years ago. I was doing home renovation, so I got the most expensive one they sold… the cheaper ones looked flimsy (the first time I ever noticed a hammer actually look cheap). The one I got broke after ONE DAY of use. wal-mart hammers are good for putting up picture frames, not for framing walls.
I went to the local hardware store, and bought a standard construction hammer, for less than what the “GOOD” one cost at wal-mart. I still have it and use it, 5 years later.
Wal-Mart is not my store. I want my hammers to survive the first time I use it. I want my clothes to last more than three months before I have to stitch/repair. (I’m an engineer, so threadbare clothes are a no-no.)
They are real efficient at giving me what I don’t want for real cheap. I looked that gift horsey in the mouth, and I’ll let you have it, free! You get what you pay for.
Well, this looks too much like a wal-mart slam, so I’ll talk on a positive. At least at walmart you get what you pay for, and none of that service or support that makes the other places cost more. They do have cheap pretzels in the cafe, and they don’t charge for the mustard packets!
Michigan has a liberal government? Ha! The governor can’t get her spending priorities through the republican senate. Try and live here for a year on handouts and see where you get.
(Here you get $21 per week for food stamps if you qualify. Our state has no interest in going above and beyond federal requirements. The Detroit school system doesn’t get pencils and papers for their children every year like they do down south. You bring your own writing materials. If you were lucky, the teacher paid for it out of her own salary. Liberal!)
