I have a family friend who is a 25 year old attractive Catholic single female who has an obsession with sex and is attracted to older men. Her father leaving the family when she was 8 years old may have something to do with this. She met a priest who conducted a family funeral a couple of weeks ago (in the next state over) and will be attending the 40 day mass soon. She says she likes this priest a lot. She intends to talk to him about her obsessions “in order to get help” with this problem when she’s there at the 40 mass. Is this a good idea or should she consult with a qualified female therapist about this issue? What would you suggest?

Hi,

If she needs to speak to a priest about the matter, she does not have to go to the next state. She obviously sounds attracted to him. I think a female therapist is in order.
