Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and may perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest in peace.

Jack Chick hated the Catholic Church, but I have hope that he was not culpable. Despite his many errors, his zeal for the salvation of souls was sincere, and I am inclined to believe he was a victim of a con artist rather than a willful deceiver.
Some priestly commentator (Sheen?) once said that fewer than 100 people really hate the Catholic Church, but many hate what they mistakenly believe to be the Catholic Church.

Let’s all hope that Mr. Chuck found mercy and made it to Purgatory.

I really don’t think there is any doubt that Jack Chick, and others like him, were and are in good faith. If everything he alleged were true, the Catholic Church would be despicable. At best, the allegations are half-truths and distortions, peppered with some just outright lies. Who got the lies started, I don’t know and perhaps no one knows.

Considering the age of items quoted in his stuff, I’d not be surprised if a lot of it originated in the 1800s (I.e., 1800 to 1899.)

I was so humbled to hear her. Her words of simple love, close to a Mother Teresa type of love, heroic love, and absolute faith in God was such a blessing.

During the DNC the Biden team brought out the big guns of Catholics who think as he does, know for their oppositional beliefs against Church teaching in some instances. I guess Biden though it would bring Catholic around to his side.

Then the RNC brings Sr Dede Byrne, probably not know to anyone outside her circle of influence to come and tell of her remarkable life in such a humble manner. She spoke of prayer, of the true God, of what it really is to be pro-life and pro-eternal life.

I wonder how many Catholics who may have been on the fence have seen Sr Dede’s speech and were influenced by it to vote for life, to vote for America. Even if they didn’t watch the RNC, her speech has been all over the internet ever since.

She might have the skills and traits to be a very good president, but she is a religious, and religious should not run for public office. She could help politicians in a counseling/advisory role, particularly as it pertains to spiritual life.

Peace.

Looks like CNN was trying to fiddle with the translation of what she said.
Wow.

Yeah. That’s dishonest practice right there.

When two opposing ‘sides’ of an issue contest a point of language itself, and a news broadcaster dubs or CCs over a speaker from one side, replacing their word with the terminology preferred by the other ‘side’?

That’s bad. That’s propaganda, not reporting.

How would CNN report on it if Fox News dubbed over a leftist talking about a “fetus”, and in the dub they replaced it with “innocent baby”?

There are reasons each side prefers the terms they prefer. No third party reporter has a right to misquote a speaker from one side as if they used the terminology of the other side.

At some point, MSNBC became a more competent business (relatively speaking) than CNN. I think it must have happened around 2016. But yeah, it is very sneaky and dishonest.

Of course they were. They had nothing they could mock, demean, or laugh at with her, so they took the tiniest crumb they had and ran with it.
