Should stillborns receive burial?

I have a question about the burial of stillborn infants.

A friend’s wife had a miscarriage and instead of burying the body of the baby, they kept the remains in a box on their mantelpiece. They have a little shrine o show respect but I always thought that that human remains should be buried. Even if the person is unbaptised. Is it right to keep the baby like that?

To lose a child is one of the most painful types of grief. This couple went through a great tragedy and will be in my prayers. Yes, you are correct that a still born child should be respectfully buried.
