No, the marvel cinematic universe destroyed Captain America so I prefer they keep their hands off another namesake of the country they hate so much.

Actually I kind wish endgame was just that.

It is worth noting that Reb Brown, who played Captain America in two unsold pilots in the late 1970s, did at least two movies with The Greatest American Hero star William Katt.

By the way, I presume that Disney now owns the rights to The Greatest American Hero.

I voted no… why would they bring him into the MCU?

The Greatest American hero isn’t a Marvel property. Marvel has a ton of characters that they haven’t used in the MCU, so there is zero reason for them to start poaching superheros that don’t belong to Marvel.

Great song though! And it was a great show, I used watch as a little kid.

Well, phil19034, Disney owns Marvel now, and the conglomerate presumably owns the rights to The Greatest American Hero at the present time. Imagine Ralph Hinkley being paired with Peter Parker.

Yeah, but it really doesn’t work that way.

Disney also owns LucasFilms, but they are not going to put the characters from Star Wars in the MCU either.

While Disney owns Marvel and LucasFilms, they each have their own Presidents, etc.

Because Disney is decentralized, it VERY difficult for them to force their different subsidiaries to work together.

Well, phil19034, are you scared that a big-screen adaptation of The Greatest American Hero would do injustice to the legacy of the TV series? A pilot for a small-screen reboot was considered by ABC last year, but it didn’t make the grade.

SEGA’s response to Detective Pikachu, perhaps? At least Pikachu looks good in hyper-realistic animation.

What legacy? It ran for 2 or 3 seasons. That’s not even enough for syndication. The theme song was more popular than the show itself

Well, DeniseNY, The Greatest American Hero was shown in off-network syndication after it was cancelled by ABC. The FX cable channel aired the series in the mid-1990s.

We’re talking about the show with the song. “Believe it or not , I’m walking on air… 🎶 “?
