Well, we currently have Pope Frank. Before him we had Pope Ben.

His first address will include a note of encouragement to kids who get teased for their name

Why did that remind of the Right Said Fred song?
To quote Biden (NOT BEING POLITICAL, PROMISE)
“You know, you know, the thing”.

The next (and last) Pope already has a name, and it is Simon bar Jonah.
(See # 113, pg 311, Liber Secundus, Lignum Vitae, 1595)

It would be interesting if a newly elected pope would not take a religious name and just stick with his baptismal name and even called Pope (nickname).

It was Karl Keating who said, IIRC that Pope John II deemed his name Mercury (Mercurius) to be inappropriate and took the name John after Pope John I. Think about it. We could have had a Pope Mercury.

Yeah, especially if his baptismal name already was a good saint’s name.

“My own name is good enough – I’m just going to keep it!”

D

Are there any piers at the vactican?

Because if the pope fell off of one, his best chance would be to Bob . . .

😱
