Should the rosary be blessed again after replacing parts of it?

I have a very old rosary, a gift from my mother. I replaced the crucifix with a new one because it had been damaged. Do I need to have the rosary blessed again? What about when you replace beads? I may have to do that in the future, some are showing cracks.
 
(Totally off-topic, but it reminds me of this!)

Say your grandfather had a pocket watch. He had it repaired several times and various parts were replaced before he gave it to your father. As the watch got older, more and more parts needed to be replaced. By the time your father gave you the watch, every single part, from the gears and springs, to the face, hands and even the case has been replaced as they wore out. So the question is, is it really the same watch your grandfather had? 😃

True. 🙂 I should probably look for a second rosary so I don’t have to worry about that.
 
From what i understand you only have to get the new parts blessed. The rosary wont lose its blessing when you take it apart. So if your replaces the cross just get that blessed

Interesting question. I encountered the same thing. I have a handmade rosary that’s fragile, and I discovered after getting it blessed that it had come apart in my pocket (literally it was broken while it was being blessed!) and I ended up finding that replacing part of the chain linking the beads together was the easiest way to repair it. Since all the beads, crucifix, and medal are all the same it doesn’t need re-blessing does it?
 
No you do not. The blessing for the rosary is for the entire thing and not each individual link and bead. If the rosary was completely deconstructed so that it no longer resembled a rosary then after its reconstruction it would need to be blessed again. But replacing a crucifix or a bead does not require this. For instance the blessing of a crucifix and the blessing of a rosary are two very different blessings (at least according to the 1962 Ritual).
