Should the SPPX be Avoided

Bottom line Jesuits aren’t in schism from the Church, but the SSPX is. I never heard of St. John Cantius. Angelus Press sells his works not the other way around. I would avoid Angelus Press, TLM isn’t there main focus it is SSPX.

You never heard of St. John Cantius? And the SSPX is in schism? Not surprising if you listen to those Jesuits.

BTW, I don’t want to put you on the defensive but the Jesuits, more than any other order, EWTN notwithstanding, are a butt of many trad jokes. (“What’s a rosary”, etc.)

I have their 62 Missal. Perfectly compatible with JPII Indult and the SP of Benedict XVI. Not a word about the SSPX. Where do you pick up this nonsense?

Thirdly, I’d recommend reading the book “Open Letter to Confused Catholics” by Archbishop Lefebre. It clearly lays out the “founder’s” view on Catholic tradition and his opinions on modernism, Vatican II, etc.

That book is worth the read for everyone.

The SSPX is still not in full communion with Rome.

This is somewhat misleading. They are in full communion insofar as receiving the sacraments. Their bishops are currently not allowed to ordain, however, and the priests do not enjoy diocesan faculties. They are under suspension but they are not outside the Church, never have been. Their Masses are still valid, however. If you have any hesitations on attending their Masses or buying anything from Kansas, by all means avoid them.

Coincidently, just today, I happened to recieve the free book of Archbishop Lefebvre’s “Open Letter” along with “Most asked questions about the SPPX” by the Fathers of the Holy Cross Seminary and “Is Tradition Excommunicated?”, a series of independent studies, along with the phamphlet “Time Bombs of the Second Vatican Council” and a Visitor’s Guide to the Traditional Mass. All for free. I will start reading them immediately, and study the Church documents, as well. I think I may have a good start in understanding, by the most reliable sources, about this issue.
I will also make it a point to speak to my parish priest about it.
