Should this woman's past prevent her from being a godparent?

Hello,

I am getting my son baptized and am having a dilema on choosing the godparent. I have a good friend that I would like to ask, but I’m not sure if her past actions would impact being a godparent. She is a practising catholic but in her past she had an abortion when she was really young. I am concerned that it would be wrong for her to be a godparent due to this. But, at the same time I know we are to forgive. Please advise.
 
Hi,

That should not be a worry for you since she has repented and received absolution for a bad judgement she made in the distant past.
