My wife and I were invited to a gay marriage ceremony and reception. Our questions resolve around these two issues. We believe that gay marriage is against God’s will, and we do not support it. However, my wife’s father has invited us to his wedding ceremony.
We are hoping you could please guide us in how to procede. We have been debating two main options. One is to not attend the wedding nor the reception. The other is to only attend the reception. We do not want to dishonor the sanctity of marriage, therefore the ceremony feels morally wrong to us. We do not want to be part of the prayers and blessings of the gay marriage. We do want to express our love for my wife’s father, but we do not want to support a gay marriage.
Thank you for any advice or teachings you can provide in helping us make our decision.
