We Have been invited to two wedings.
These are children of dear life time friends who happen to be lapsed Christians of the Anglican
Persuasions.
The grand parents practiced early in the 1950s but they soon lapsed after bapising there children.
These children parents, are our life time freinds whose childen in turn grew up with our kids .
Those to be wedded are not would not ne able to recite the Our Father are baptized effectivly are pagan but when it comes down to the crunch would likely aligne them selves as Christian.
These weddings will likely be non Christian and of the garden variety.(Pagan and civil)
The point is what do we practing catholic Christians do?
Decline quietly, useing the St Paul bad example for Christians line?
Or attend thus giving moral support and best love and support to our dear friends children whom we have loved since their births.
For they know not what they do?
Regards,
Terry McDonnell WA.

Un baptized weddings.
Do we attend?
Or do we have moral obligation to not take part in effectivly a pagan wedding.

Are you under the misapprehension that unbaptized people cannot validly be married? Marriage is available to both Christians and non-Christians.

By the way, it’s a really bad idea to include your full name in posts. These are archived in Google and available forever on the Internet.

Valid marriages are contracted outside of the Catholic Church every day and have been since time began. We best evangelize with love.

Go, take a nice gift, dance and let your joy shine!

Hi , saw you removed your name from the title but just want to point out your name is still in the original question post at the bottom.

First of all, you don’t understand the term pagan.

Second, as others have stated, you don’t seem to understand how the Catholic Church views the validity of marriages.

Third, and most important, you make your decision based on LOVE, not contempt - which (forgive me if I’m wrong) is the impression I’m getting from your initial comments. If these are people you care about, celebrate with them and pray for them. If your conscience bothers you about doing so, politely decline, but pray for them. Whatever you do, don’t be judgmental about their situation just because you don’t understand it or agree with it - and PRAY FOR THEM.

Thanks Martha.

New at this.

Is it dangerous to show ones name?

Hi Terry, I’m new here too. I don’t show my real name because I’ve shared a lot here and I feel like I may slip and give too much away and then one day my coworker will print everything I wrote about her and leave it on my desk because she figured me out.

Ok I exaggerated a bit but I prefer to be anonymous as I don’t find it necessary to reveal too much in case someone does google my name and a thread post pops up on my mother in law. Situations like that.
