Should we avoid a parish that allows centering prayer?

Hello there -

My wife and I will be relocating to a new city in 10 days. I have thoroughly researched the parishes in that area and there appear to be 2 to 3 good fits for us. In particular, there is a dominican parish that seems promising. The only problem is that parish permits centering prayer groups to meet there weekly. This has me raising my eyebrows because I understand that centering prayer is controversial and that it actually can be dangerous psychologically. Is this is a red flag that I should pay attention to, or am I being too black and white? Thank you in advance for your time!
