Should we be praying for the dissolution of the Anglican Communion?

Actually, we are agreeing to disagree. But disagreeing on doctrine does not mean that we are being uncharitable to the people.

The problem comes from those who ALREADY have tried (to date, unsuccessfully,) to force the Holy Catholic Church to ordain women priests and bishops by use of the secular courts. They got thrown out for lack of jurisdiction, so far.

People are talking about parts of the Anglican Communion falling into schism…but the reality is the entire Communion has been in schism for half a millennium. It’s time we ended this shameful scandal, and the current troubles may just be the impetus.

The Pope does not agree.

It is not in the interest of The Roman Catholic Church or The Worldwide Church made up of everybody, that The Anglican Communion falls apart.

Basically because it will look bad on Christ.

The rest of us Anglicans may be to blame because we havn’t taken the U.S Anglicans seriously. There’s so few Anglicans in America compared to elsewhere that they may have had to rebel to get our attention.
 
With regards to the Anglican church we should be praying for the Will of God.

I agree 100%, it should be a move that is inspired and not because of scandal or disgrace.
 
I do not pray for dissolution of the Anglican Church, but rather reunification.

However, a significant fraction of Anglican Bishops and priests reject much of Catholic moral teachings on important matters, including abortion, homosexual activity, sexual activity outside of marriage and contraception. In fact, when listening to some of these bishops, like Gene Robinson and Katharine Jefferts, you wonder exactly what kind of spirituality they are teaching; I cannot see anything except self-indulgence in what these two have to say.

I think that the potential of the Traditional Anglicans seeking to reunify with Rome is a good thing. Basically, the Catholic Church would regain those who are essentially faithful to what the Church teaches while leaving the disruptive and decadent parts behind.

He’s said that it would not be in anyones interest at the present time if the Conservative Anglicans joined the Roman Catholic Church. It was said in such a way not to seem like he is poking his nose in another churches bussiness.

The pope and The Arch Bishop of Canterbury are good friends.
 
I suspect had this question been asked three or so generations ago, the answer would have been an emphatic “Yes! Of course! Why on earth wouldn’t we?”
