The real question is- should this site be used to lobby such organisations as the UN , a bishop, political leader etc when they are attacking the Church, its faithful, promoting unchristian values etc?
People could include a web address and email address and ask others to email their concerns, complaints etc. Is this a good idea?

John,

Before you write to the UN, you might want to read this:

adoremus.org/0904NewsViews.html
This is why I mention the UN. See below.
http://forums.catholic-questions.org/images/icons/icon8.gif UN Calls on Poland to ‘Liberalize’ Abortion Laws
The United Nations Human Rights Committee is concerned that Poland, a predominantly Catholic nation, is too “restrictive” with its abortion laws, and it is urging Poland to “liberalize” those laws in order to comply with U.N. standards.

Back in June of 2003, the Dutch sent their ‘abortion ship’ to Poland, now the gang at the UN is starting in on them. I believe the Polish people are made of stronger stuff than the purveyors of the culture of death realize.

Of course, this ‘demand’ by the UNHRC hasn’t been widely reported in the American media.

John,

All well and good, but can you explain why Pope John Paul conferred a Papal Knighthood on Julian Hunte in September, knowing full well that Mr. Hunte is an outspoken proponent of legalized abortion?

It is possible the pope was mislead by those recommending he confer this honour. He can’t know the reputation of a billion Catholics and is so busy he must rely on others.

I doubt he knew, or if he knew it is part of a pastoral plan to weaken this man’s pro-abortion advocacy. Or the man has repented of his pro-abortion past.

One need not necessarily be pro-abortion one’s whole life. There sounds like there is more to this story as the Holy Father has been a tireless defender of human life.

Welcome Back Cherubino.

Were you out fighting the lavendar mafia? My kudos for your past work in that thankless battlefield. http://forums.catholic-questions.org/images/icons/icon7.gif

Hi again,
I cannot speak for the Pope. But I can tell you infallibility does not come into play here. It is probably a piece of diplomacy. Thanks for the web link- but I don’t know whether it is accurate or true. I’ve never been to this site before and I don’t know the people who wrote the article. But I know there have been some very immoral popes who remained infallible on faith and morals even though they were committing sins which were public knowledge.
