Should we not love the devil and pray for him?

Jesus taught us to love others as we love ourselves. One kid asked me one question regarding this. Do we have to love devil? My initial answer was no. But then I thought and discussed this matter with others. The eventual answer I got is that we should not love devil, however we should be praying that one day he drops all his misdeeds and come back to our Lord.
I welcome your thoughts and suggestions so that I could learn more.

To think that one can pray for the devil is to not understand the devil. He is not like us. He is the epitome of evil and wants to be so. He is governed by such jealously of God and pride in himself, that as miserable as he is, he wills to ever be God’s enemy.
