Should we receive communion at an Anglican service?

A Catholic was a visitor to a town he’d never been to last Sunday and could not find a Catholic church. He accepted an invitation to an Anglican service in lieu of going to Mass. He received communion at the service. He asked me subsequently what the Church teaches on such a matter. I was unable to give a definitive answer. Could you help me please?
