Should we recite the parish mission statement at Mass?

A little over a year ago my parish began reciting our mission statement following the Nicene Creed. Is this permissible? This is something that doesn’t sit well with my husband or me so we are silent while it’s being read.

A parish mission statement is not an approved liturgical prayer for Mass. In fact, since it is essentially being equated in importance to the Nicene Creed, I recommend writing to the bishop about the practice and asking for his guidance.
