If you’re referring to me I was talking about right after conception, JUST like my post stated. Not acouple weeks in. Geez! Obviously its a baby when you see an ultrasound, what do you think I’m an idiot or something!? Get the facts straight before you rip apart my post and assume things.
Who needs to calm down? 😉

I find it odd that Catholic ethicists don’t share the opinions of “wrongdoing” and there is the Diocese of Little Rock reversed it’s position stating that the church leaders had acted on misinformation.

Interesting…

It appears that SGK follows the money making sure what they contributed, goes exactly to that end…“screen/treat breast cancer” for the un- and underinsured.

“The fact that some Komen affiliates, at times, provide funding to Planned Parenthood specifically and solely for breast health services cannot on the face of it be construed as wrongdoing,” the ethicists wrote. “The good that Komen does and the harm that would come to so many women if Komen ceased to exist or ceased to be funded would seem to be a sufficiently proportionate reason” for Catholics to support our funding decisions (emphasis added).----Catholic ethicists – Ron Hamel, Ph.D. and Michael Panicola, Ph.D

When I want to find out something, I rarely pay attention to the wolf cryers…and go right to the source to find out for myself.

I guess for some of you all the Catholic ethicists have it all wrong.🤷
These people DO NOT speak for the Church! They are entirely wrong - I don’t care how many degrees they have and how many titles. The good does not and never will outweigh or excuse the evil.

And you can’t tell me for one second that the money they receive to offer these services does not free up funds elsewhere to pay for abortion services.

I want her to quit twisting the posts making it seem like I’m some evil girl who doesn’t care for the unborn and that the most dumb statement I’ve ever heard. Hopefully she’ll see my previous response and understand why shes wrong in referring to me in her post.

Now a days, if a person is aborting right after a conception… they use the abortion pill. They don’t go to a clinic the day after sex and ask for an abortion.

My comment was not directed at you AT ALL! I You’re really going to have to get over yourself. I wasn’t even refering to your post…

So, YOU get the facts straight…

Its called the morning after pill. Its PLAN B brand.

And it sounded like you were 100% referring to me, but if you weren’t then, great. My apologies.

Seriously, wasn’t referring to you. I was referring to MY idea of extended beyond what we hear about today education. Go back to my posts… I don’t believe that many women really realize what they are aborting. As I said in the other thread. That’s why I think they should watch the abortion by ultrasound video. They need to see the baby fight… They need to understand that. And I don’t think they truly do. Not en masse. You’re the one that said I was wrong, and that everyone knows what an abortion does… I disagree. And it never occured to me as another pointed out that when at PP you wouldn’t even be shown your ultrasound. And that makes for another problem… and therefore need for education. Young girls especially don’t know what to expect in an OB/GYN’s office. From discussions with many adult women… lots of adults don’t either…

Go ahead and check back to other posts on abortion that I’ve commented on… The education is my little thing… I really haven’t created a stance just to bug you…

I don’t think you’re some evil girl. I realize that you are Christian as stated, and that you don’t believe abortion is ok…

Why would they need to rely on “free up” funding, when Uncle Sam provides it happily through our tax dollars? Ah, that is the conundrum. If SGK didn’t provide one shiny penny, PP would still be in operation. So where should un - underinsured women go for breast cancer screenings? Are these facilities available and accessable to women? I know, how about the emergency room…yes, walk in, get treated, don’t have the money to pay…walk out…and health care costs go up…yeah that’s a better idea. Indegent health care, what all the extreme right is up in arms about.

These people to whom you referred are part of the Catholic Health Association. I guess they are bafoons.🤷 and somebody should call the Bishop about this

The weird thing is that I don’t know anybody who hasn’t seen an ultra sound or hasn’t been educated in the stages of pregnancy, so I don’t see how somebody couldn’t know what they were aborting. However I do know that there are the very few out there that either don’t know what their aborting, or have never taken it into consideration, so when it happens, they are shocked.

But look at the stats. The highest percentage of abortions are in very poor areas. Where educations stinks. They aren’t getting great medical care in the first place. And they can barely get an average level of education in math, English and science.

I can tell you the first time I showed my ultrasound pics to people… it’s always… Ummm, I don’t know what I’m looking at. PLUS, it’s a still not a moving video. I mean they know there’s a baby in there… but they can’t make it out. And even though it looks obvious to many of us… it just doesn’t to others. They don’t equate human… person. Especially when they don’t want to.

I have heard of some abortion clinics doing this. Talk about evil - the girl/woman thinks she’s had an abortion when she really hasn’t!!!
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I’ve never heard of this or considered it’s effect.

The most likely scenario is the 28 year old grandmother who thinks it’s completely acceptable for her 14 year old to be sexually active again.

These are the folks being preyed upon.

When Archbishop Burke was in St. Louis, he sent out a note asking us to not support Komen because of the money going to Planned parenthood. This past year we got a note about it reiterating that.

If the money goes to breast exams, then that frees up money for abortions.

And the pill also is connected to breast cancer.
studies have shown that women who have had an abortion have higher instances of breast cancer as well… planned parenthood uses approx. 3% of donations toward womens well care , the rest is applied to abortion. I don’t call it not using my noodle and not thinking for myself, I call it living my faith when I don’t patronize businesses who do support planned parenthood. The only thing I can figure about “planned” parenthood is the plan to kill. check out the stats. Oh, and isn’t it ironic that the Komen foundation who supports Planned Parenthood is for breast cancer…more abortions=more breast cancer…now who isn’t using their noodle?

I just had this dilemma. My fire dept union does a big fundraiser for Komen every October. Since myself and several other Christians had qualms about Komen, we found a new charity to support.

We are supporting the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. It seems like a much better choice.

Wearing Pink is a generic way to support breast cancer, not necessarily Komen

We contacted Komen here in LA asking about planned parenthood. Apparently they thought we were supporters of abortion because they sent us this response. Perhaps reading it can show you where Komen stands:
"I got your voicemail and I wanted to pass along the following information regarding our continued partnership with Planned Parenthood for you to share and if you or anyone has any additional questions I’ll be happy to explain in greater detail.
Cecile Richards, president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of America (Nov. 2012):
In recent weeks, the treasured relationship between the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation and Planned Parenthood has been challenged, and we are now heartened that we can continue to work in partnership toward our shared commitment to breast health for the most underserved women. We are enormously grateful that the Komen Foundation has clarified its grantmaking criteria, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with Komen partners, leaders and volunteers. What these past few days have demonstrated is the deep resolve all Americans share in the fight against cancer, and we honor those who are at the helm of this battle.
Planned Parenthood has been a trusted partner with the Komen Foundation in early cancer detection and prevention services. In particular, Planned Parenthood helps the Komen Foundation reach vulnerable populations — low-income women, African-American women, and Latinas — especially in rural areas and underserved communities where Planned Parenthood health centers are their only source of health care. With Komen Foundation grants, over the past five years, Planned Parenthood health centers provided nearly 170,000 clinical breast exams and more than 6,400 mammogram referrals. With the outpouring of support over the past week, even more women in need will receive lifesaving breast cancer care.
First and foremost I want to confirm with you that the issue is 100% resolved. In less than 5 days after the occurrence, Komen leadership overturned the decision; the partnership between Komen and Planned Parenthood was restored and bolstered. In fact, in our 2012-2013 grant slate Komen Affiliates (local chapters) funded 16 Planned Parenthood grants, providing crucial financial support to their organization.
Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s mission is the same today as it was the day of its founding in 1982: to find cures and eradicate breast cancer forever. Our mission is too important to be overshadowed by this controversy and our commitment to women’s breast health is unwavering.

First, this is a very old thread. 2nd, were you addressing me? You quoted me, which is confusing.

Thank You for posting this, as we can clearly see these two are still partnerships and working very closely together. I am glad to hear you and your fire dept union have decided to find a new charity to change over to that is morally suited , actually you made my day!
Sometimes it can get upsetting when we hear about our donations ,or part of, being given away by them, I didn’t even know that was legal. I was thinking downheartedly “where does it all end” but now I have that answer…people like you and your team doing the right thing! I know this is an old issue but its ongoing, and so is Planned Parenthood. God’s blessings be with you and may the Holy Spirit continue to live in all you do.

hello…I am sorry if I offended you in any way, actually I agree with all your postings and I was only making a post, not really addressing you . I saw your last line on birth control pills causing cancer and I picked up on that and went on with abortions also causing cancer. even tho this is an old thread, the problems are still there unfortunately. Sorry for the confusion.
Blessings,
Patsymae
