Should women have their feet washed on Holy Thursday?

when did it be official and approved that Catholic women can have their feet washed on
Holy Thursday?

I sing in our choir here at St. Anthony’s Church and am very active in the church. Our
pastor requested that I be one of the 12 who have their feet washed this coming Holy
Thursday.

My Catholic husband is trying to tell me that is not allowed. Jesus washed the feet of his
12 apostles who were all men.

I do not agree with my husband. Why would my pastor ask this of me? I feel very honored.

Please someone help me.
