The scripture Mercygate has given you makes the point: when a husband and wife are “cleaved” together, how are they to be obedient, the wife to her parents and the husband to his, without separating what the Lord has joined?

Ok! 👍

Is it easy to obey your parents?
should you always obey your parents?
When do you have the most difficult tim obeying your parents?

Actually, I was just looking over a form for examination of conscience and came across the question:
“Do you try to manipulate your adult children’s lives?”
Okay, I’m 58, my mother who is 94 moved in with me. We share the house, which was mine for 14 years before I invited her to move in with me 3 years ago. She constantly dictates to me what she thinks needs to be done. E.g., “Let the dogs out.” “Lock the door knob” (this last in addition to the deadbolts in the security screen and the door.) It drives me crazy.

Should I obey because she is my mother? Should I obey for peace in the house? Should I obey as a means of dying to self? Should I ignore her demands?
