I have a very nit-picky question pertaining to confession. If you remember a sin while the priest is praying the words of absolution, should you interrupt to confess the sin?
No. Wait until the priest is finished, and then, if you are unsure of its status, ask him the status of the sin in question. If it is a venial sin, it does not need to be confessed. If it is a mortal sin, ask if you need to confess it now or if the absolution just given can cover it. Either way, accept the priest’s judgment of the matter.
