Should you keep the same godparents for each child?

My husband and I are about to have our second child. We are wondering if it is considered a better practice to select the same godparents for each child for uniformity of instruction, or if it is better to select different people to be the godparents for each child to reduce burden on any one person.

There’s no one right answer. If you can’t decide, you might ask your older child’s godparents their thoughts on the matter. If they express eagerness to stand as godparents to your expected child, then choose them. If they suggest that the honor be shared with others, feel free to do so.
