Shouldn't people kneel before receiving the Eucharist?

In our Church we have been going to for many years I noticed that right before communion the whole church sits down. No other Churches I have been in do this. Is this appropriate. All the other Churches I have been in you knee before receiving the Eucharist. Shouldn’t everyone be kneeling if they are able to show reverence to the Eucharist?
