Show Us Your Backyard Mary! :)

If anyone’s got a statue of Mary or other saint, in a garden or yard arrangement, please post it. It’s the season, and lots of us are looking for good suggestions: curious to see what you have.
 
We’ve got a statue of Mary that sits in the middle of our backyard garden. My parents said that I saw her at some garden store and absolutely had to have her; I was probably three or so at the time. So she’s 20+ years old now and sorely in need of some restoration; most of her paint is chipping off after all those years of being out in the weather. Hopefully that will be my project this summer… On second thought, it would make a good project for May.
 
Our home has a frontyard Mary and when the tulips bloom around her,I’ll post a pic 🙂
 
This is a photo is not the best quality cause I took a photo of an old picture so I could show you. It was originally a picture of Sr Bittsy meditating there next to the pink Clematis and Mary. 🙂 Mary will be moving to the front yard soon. I planted a tree :o and can no longer see her in the back yard from the house, and the giant pine tree above made too much shade for the flowers to do well. It’s such a peaceful corner though - maybe I’ll cut the tree down!
 
My “outdoor” Mary is an indoors Mary. I live in an apartment and would be afraid she would end up missing. I just recently added flowers around her for spring and I think they are beautiful. She is always an honored guest in my home. :love:

My mother just bought this for me. I fell in love with her. We left the store and came back. They live indoors right now. I rent. I have a plan for an outdoor prayer garden when I buy a house. Plans involve a larger Mary, fountain, roses and other flowers. some day!

wow, that came out huge… Now you can see the extra detail!

I think the older concrete statues look nicer than the newer one’s I’ve seen. Perhaps the weathering adds to it, too.

The indoor Mary idea is, to me, new and exciting!
 
faithfully, what a BEAUTIFUL statue!!

Do you know where she came from? I’d love to find a similar statue. Sometimes they will turn up in antique or architectural antique stores…I don’t care much for the newer ones.

I have a statue like about as large as yours in the front window of my kitchen. I never thought of putting flowers around like you have done, but now I will. I usually just have a few votive holders with tealights in them. Yours looks beautiful! 👍

My story, is that my mom bought the statue painted white at a yard sale for about $10. I repainted it and my mom said I should not put it outside “because it’s too nice to put outside.” So no matter where my family moves, it has always been in the kitchen. 🙂

Believe it or not, she is brand spankin’ new. I purchased her at a garden center. I called to get the make or mfg, they were not forthcoming. But look to new places.

she’s not stone. There is a seem you can’t see from a distance. So she’s cast of some material. Sort of heavy. I just love the way she looks so old.

Price was $42.00 per the sticker on the bottom…

Check this one out. UNIQUE… I think it’s very sweet!

Wow, the statue looks so antique! It’s great that they are making things like this. I love the one in your link too, but it looks too nice to go outdoors. I would put that on a home altar.
