talk about breathing with both lungsI have an icon corner of my own, though sadly I cannot upload a picture yet. I have the Theotokos of Kazan on the left, Christ Pantocrator on the right, St. Gregory the Great, St. Joseph and the conception of John the Forerunner on the left as well, and Sts. Anthony and Michael on the right. I have a latin crucifix in the center, and a Divine Mercy icon above that. It’s not really a corner- it’s more of a dresser top. Though the sand-filled pot with taper candles along with the regular candlesticks does make for a nice eastern look. Of course, I have my prayer cards, my rosary, my horologion, menaion, bible, eastern and western prayerbooks, and my breviary. I actually use both- though not at the same time of course. I sort of consider myself more of a hybrid Eastern/Western Catholic than anything else.
The best Icon corner is the one that leads you to pray wholeheartedly. My Icon corner is completely Byzantine/Coptic with a Western Spanish (Christ bruised and bleeding) Crucifix. I also have a holy card of St Gemma Galgani with a 2nd class relic. If it helps you to pray and keeps your mind on Christ, who cares what whether it has Western and/or Eastern elements in it.
