My first ever Rosary that I received recently.

The one on the left I carry in my pocket (and used this morning at church), and the one on the right I keep by my bed.

Yes, I’ve never liked wearing medals around my neck, so I figured this was a great way to have a St. Benedict medal with me all the time 👍

Rosary for Life

The one decade rosary I use to pray with my daughter.

The next five are regular rosaries. I made the long pink/purple one in grade school many years ago. The orange beaded rosary belonged to my Buddhist husband’s grandfather.

The next one is a servite rosary.

Finally, I have a chaplet for St. Raphael.(Please Note: This uploaded content is no longer available.)

Strange to find this as top of list of threads. I was thinking about a thread like this the other day. I have a rosary that my choir gave me (former director/organist) that is my daily rosary. Then there are all the rosaries my family members gave me, aunts grandparents, as their own children have fallen away from the faith. I have quite a collection of rosaries.

No pictures? 🙂

Here is a picture of my beautiful Rosary…it is an antique one made of brass. It has glass beads on different colors…I keep this one by my bed.

It is a sacred heart Rosary. I like the old Rosaries. I found this one online. It is from Canada. According to my book on Rosaries…Rosaries are no longer made from Brass.

Here is another wonderful, antique Rosary I carry in my purse…It is another Sacred Heart type and the red beads are crystal…it is sterling. It is a small Rosary and the beads are 4mm. I am currently looking for another antique Rosary to carry with me in my pocket when I go for walks. This one will be old as well. I don’t want to have a large collection…just one more should be the last one.

Yes, I have seen some for sale on Etsy and eBay. I quite like them because they do look like antiques. 🙂

Your book is incorrect. Rosaries are made from whatever metal (or materials) the makers chooses to use.
Well, brass used to be a common material for chaplets and rosaries, it’s rare to see brass nowadays…

That may be the case for mass market rosaries, but handmade rosaries are still widely available. I can still easily source all the materials needed to make a brass rosary.

Hello…according to my book entitled “The Rosary Collector’s Guide”, as stated “Rosaries made of Brass are most likely antique because newer and lighter material have replaced Brass”. I admire my Rosary and know it is old…it is heavy, solid brass, fits perfectly in my hands! 😇 I wanted to find one of those antique World War I pull chain type…“for the Love of Old”…that’s me! I also tried looking for pearl Rosary, but they are rare…real authentic pearls!

It could be that jewellery made of brass are not in fashion either. Seems like silver plated and gold plated jewellery and rosaries are more popular today. Or rather any material that doesn’t need to be polished.
