I’m not sure I understand your question.
Catholics believe that those who die in friendship with Jesus Christ are not dead, they are merely living in a new freedom and a new happiness. We use statues, icons, candles etc to help us focus our prayers to Jesus and with various saints and angels. It is not much different, say, than my having a picture of my late Grandparents in a place of honor in my home. I am not praying to them, but I remember them when I pray and - since I believe they are now in heaven - I ask them to pray with me and for me.
