:shrug: Penance: Help with a passage

I was in confession today (10-31-09), and I said my sins, and the priest gave me a penance. It was read a passage in the bible with “happy is the sinner whose sins are forgiven.” The problem is, my priest is from Africa, and has a REALY thick accent, and I couldn’t understand what passage he said it was from. I asked him to repeat it, but still, nothing.

Does anyone know, preferably soon?

From Psalm 32:

Of David. A maskil. Happy the sinner whose fault is removed, whose sin is forgiven.
Happy those to whom the LORD imputes no guilt, in whose spirit is no deceit.

From Romans 4:

So also David declares the blessedness of the person to whom God credits righteousness apart from works: ** “Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven and whose sins are covered.** Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord does not record.”
