Im 3months out for confirmation and still somewhat undecided on a saint name for my confirmation. Does the saint make herself known to the acquirer? If so what do u think of this :

SO i when on to one of the sites I was trying to find that had saint information and i when onto catholic.org/saints - there was a utube video that just started playing and the saint that it was on was the native American one - saint Kateri Tekakwitha ! And before that i was thinking/ praying That God / Jesus would bring my saint to me and so that i would know for sure! And wow did he ever!!!

Thanks ever soo much!

In Christ

I read on here that if you feel drawn to a certain saint, that saint has chosen You.
So it sounds like she did pick you 🙂 and it’s a lovely choice.

I was Confirmed when I was in a student in Catholic school and as part of our Religion class we had to research and choose a saint for Confirmation. Starting out, I had no idea so for some reason (the Holy Spirit?) I decided to flip to the index of a book of saints. There I found a listing of saints by feast day. I decided to see whose feast day was on my birthday - July 25. There I found St James. I researched him, found him to be “cool” and I have a good devotion to him.

We were not taught very well for our Confirmation, and I picked a saint solely because I liked her name. I knew a little bit about her but we didn’t have much in common. I didn’t feel drawn to any particular saints at that point in my life, and I don’t remember any guidance or assignment or anything about picking one. I got away with the one I picked because the saint’s name was the same as a teacher I’d had and my mother assumed maybe I picked her because of the teacher, but that wasn’t the reason.

I went on to have a very different life from said saint, and for a long time I figured it was just a bad pick on my part. But in the last couple of years I have been able to relate to her more and there is one aspect of her life that touched on my own in a significant way. So maybe she was the “right” saint for me after all.
