We have a sick call crucifix that came with candles and a small bottle for holy oil. I have blessed oil from our parish and was wondering if this is what I should fill the bottle with or should a priest bring his own? My mom said a priest will have holy water and oil with him if he’s making a “sick call”, but if that’s the case, why the bottle in the crucifix set? Also, the candles look to be made of parrafin wax. I have some beeswax for making candles (hobby project this summer for my boys and I), so I was wondering if I should attempt to make small candles of beeswax to go in the set? Any thoughts?

The beeswax candles are a great idea.
The bottle is for holy water rather than for oil. If Father is coming for a sick call, he’ll likely have the oils with him.

Hope that helps.

Yes, that definitely helps. I will leave the little bottle empty as we have about a dozen holy water bottles around the house. Now, if I can just figure out how to make those tiny candles…😉
