I am pleased that your cat is going to be ok, but the proper recipients of our prayer intentions are men and women who are possessed of an immortal soul. To offer a prayer for a cat is sheer decadence.
no it isn’t…

Aimee, it never fails, every single thread on this forum that is about animals draws at least one post like the one above yours. Making a post like that in a thread like this is little more than trolling. I would ignore it.

Della, I’m glad your kitty is recovering. St. Francis (patron saint of animals) was surely looking out for him!

As others have pointed out, your other cat will stop hissing as soon as Pippin ceases to smell like the vet’s office. I have the same situation every time one of my cats has to go there. 😃

With:rolleyes: all  due:rolleyes: respect–
If we are not supposed to pray for cats, why, then, has the Catholic Church seen fit to declare St Gertrude of Nivelles as their patron saint???
Apparently, the Church does not consider it “decadent”. Indeed, by appointing a saint to the duty, it would appear to me, that said Church is recommending prayer for said cat.

But hey!! That’s just me…

If St Francis of Assisi could preach to the birds, and St Anthony of Padua to the fish of Rimini, then surely animals are fit objects for prayer.

After all, there are patron saints of computers, television and automobiles, if we can pray about inanimate objects then surely we can pray for our very much alive furred finned and feathered pals.

Thats true …I just wish everyone would realize it…

It bothers me that people would say otherwise…

They are God’s creatures too. Of course we can pray for God’s creatures.🙂

I just wanted to thank you all again for your prayers. I’m sure they were of great benefit for Pippin is feeling fine and his sore is healing up extremely well. God bless! 😃

Wow, I didn’t know cats had thier own patron saint! My Ricky is going to the vet tomorrow morning for his neutering. It seems he’s a little older than we thought. I hope it’s not too late and Lucy is not going to have kittens!

You aren’t owned by a cat, are you? 😉
