Don’t worry about what they say about Francis. The “other side” complained plenty about Pope Benedict XVI calling him all kinds of nasty names too.

Pharisees know no side. They are to be found everywhere. Especially in mirrors. :thumbsup:

Just because there are more women at mass and they are generously stepping up to take care of the lower-rung work (the only jobs available to them) and they are trying hard to keep the churches going and keep the families going…it doesn’t mean the women are* taking over* and the church is “feminized”.

For anyone to word it like that comes across as punishing or chastizing women for being *too *devout.
And to say that women are “taking over” when they are so limited to what they can do and have no access to any powerful position is…nonsensical.

Men are discouraged by seeing so many females?
What should the women do to encourage the men…stop going to mass?

If men are discouraged and so insecure just by seeing a lot of women in church…what kind of faith is that? Flimsy enough that a light breeze blows it away. Not the kind you’d want as priests or bishops.

A real man would be encouraged and inspired by seeing all the women there, trying their hardest.

I watched the Scalia funeral last week on television - and it was lovely, especially the homily - but when the camera panned out to give us a glimpse of all the clergy sitting facing the congregation, all wearing white, my first thought was, ‘That’s a whole lot of men. Where are all the women?’

LOL. Second thought was, ‘Oh, right, this isn’t an Anglican Mass.’ I guess I am used to the balance between men and women on all levels of church participation, both in the pews and at the altar.

I like our balance.
