I watch television very rarely; I don’t see it contributing anything positive to my life, and gaping openmouthed at a flickering box isn’t much fun anyway. I prefer reading. Oddly enough, I do like movies a lot. The difference is I can choose exactly what I want to see, look at the rating and reason for the rating, and if something gross or offensive comes on I can simply fast forward. With television you’re stuck, plus there are the ads. There is only one television programme I watch, which is “Lost”, and that one doesn’t revolve around sex, which is nice.

My point about tv is that though one can turn it off at something offensive, more and more are becoming more and more intellectually blind to do it (usually because the government says it’s not punishable despite what the Bible says). I admit to falling in the more lax than I ought to be in what I see category but not because the government wouldn’t punish me for it. I also don’t call those things the Bible says is damning if done on purpose and knowingly, legalistic–but what good reason I have could have only come from the grace of God.
For national security reasons, so we don’t become like Rome in its last days which was not “shoving its religious beliefs down people’s throats”, we should censor this stuff. Liberals can’t set boundaries in what outrages they will champion next, why should conservatives set boundaries on what immorality should be censored in the media. Conservatives would at least look to the Bible for way to do that best.
