“The Bridges of Edison County” was a very good book (I think). The film starred an actor sort of like Charlton Heston but not him and an actress who is severely overrated. Glen Close maybe?
It’s about this couple that has an extramarital affair, and she’s Italian or maybe Lithuanian. Then she writes it all in her diary. Her daughter finds it and brings it to her at the nursing home, and it snaps her out of dementia for a small moment.
Maybe the boyfriend was the guy from the Rockford files?
Her husband is on a trip, I think either to the world’s fair, or maybe the sheepdog competition.
I can’t remember, I fell asleep watching Turner classic movies.
But it’s one of my favorites, “The Bridges of Edison County”
