I’ve never read him, nor would it be my taste, but I’m considering giving one of his books to someone I know for a gift. I think he’s an author of mystery, isn’t he? He’s written “The Other Side of Midnight,” just to name one. I was only wondering if he is a decent writer, in the sense of no horribly graphic sex/ profanity? I’m sure some on this forum have read him. Thanks.

Mr. Sheldon created the old Hart to Hart TV series that had Robert Wagner and Stefanie Powers.

There is some graphic sexuality, cruelty and violence. I’ve read a number of the books.

Sheldon delves into a number of topics, such as murder, international thievery, and UFOs. Often though, the central characters “fall in love” and get into a fornicative relationship in the course of the narrative.

The “Other Side of Midnight” does feature a number of sex scenes.

I haven’t read any of his books for years, but I was a fan back in my late teens early twenties.

He’s well known as being the creator and writer of “I Dream of Jeanie” as well.

That’s enough for me to know. I’ll stay away…:nope:

You might want to try Ken Follett’s “Pillars of the Earth”.

It’s the story of the building of a great cathedral in England during Medieval times.
But there’s enough mystery in the book to keep your mystery-loving friend
enthralled. If you are familiar with Ken Follett, you’ll know that he made his
fame and fortune as a writer of spy-type thrillers. This book is quite a
departure for him, but it’s without a doubt his best writing.

It’s truly an excellent book, one of the best I’ve read.
