Hello fellow Catholics and Christians, hope everyone is doing well. 🙂

I hope I’m posting this in the right forum. But recently I was given a link to sign a petition for YouTube to remove ALL host desecration videos on their site, especially from a certain individual there who seems to enjoy desecrating the Host… Please sign the petition and forward it to all your friends and families: americaneedsfatima.org/yt/?sc=e0005.eml2.link1

I, for one, hope these and all videos of the like get banned permanently from being posted.

God bless.

So you think people should be censored if they’re anti-catholic?
whatever happened to freedom of speech, and the right to an opinion?

Thank God for people like you. I’m wondering how this fellow gets his hands on consecrated hosts? I have a suspicion that he or someone he knows, goes to Mass and when the priest distributes Holy Communion by puting it in the hand, they don’t put it in their mouth immediately as is a Vatican rule. If this is so, it’s another reason to only allow the Eucharist to be distributed on the tongue only, as it was done for hundreds of years before Vatican II. Also, I have personally witnessed people dropping the host after it is put in their hand.

Yes they should be censored, along with those who make demeaning remarks about any religion whether it’s Catholic, Jewish, Muslim, Protestant, Budist, etc. There is no reason to do these things except for hate. You’d probably would not understand this because of your secular belief in unfettered freedom of speech. Most decent people draw the line on free speech when it hurts individuals.

Well than where do you draw the line when it comes to that than? How do you define exactly what opinions are going to hurt people? Because that’s a massive amount of opinions, so how would you select which opinions can’t be touched? You can’t censor people’s opinions simply because they may hurt someone’s feelings.

If you want to censor things that hurt people’s feelings, than we might as well censor people who don’t like cats, to save the cat lovers from being hurt. Or censor people who don’t like Duran Duran so that the die hard fans don’t get hurt.

Once you begin censoring opinions it opens the flood gates, and than there is no way to draw a responsible line.

People are entitled to their opinions, and they’re entitled to express their opinions. It doesn’t harm anyone to express an opinion. If your faith is strong, than someone’s anti-catholic opinion shouldn’t bother you, because you already know in your heart that your beliefs are right for you.

In this case, it’s truly as simple as not clicking on a link. If you don’t want to hear the opinions expressed in those videos, just don’t click on them! Problem solved. This Youtube user isn’t even popular, so it’s apparent that the OP went through a lot of searching to even find their videos, they were intentionally looking for anti-catholic videos, that’s the only way they could have come across this person.

You use a concept called “common sense”, which you seem not to be aware of…

Common sense is exactly what I’m talking about using when I said that if you don’t want to hear those opinions, don’t watch those videos.

It is not common sense to believe that people should be prevented from expressing their beliefs and opinions. That’s called oppression.

This person at YouTube must be crazy. I just looked at the titles of his videos, and I felt very sorry that we’re living not in times of Holy Inquisition! I won’t even pray for him. I believe that he will be punished for his actions.
I’m forwarding the link to russian catholic communities. These hate videos definitely need to be removed from YouTube. Hopefully we can do something.

Oppressive? For doing God’s will? ie: Love your neighbor as yourself. Let the one who is not a sinner cast the first stone.

When one is a secular progressive, they do not understand such a concept.

So God’s will is to silence those who do not believe? Sorry, but are you out of your mind? God gave us free for a purpose.

“Let the one who is not a sinner cast the first stone.” You say this, yet here you are at the same time judging people who disagree with your beliefs, judging that they should be silenced.

Censorship even goes against the fundamentals of your own religion. Let me remind you of a person.

This person had different, and controversial beliefs for his time. For voicing his beliefs he was persecuted, and made an outcast. Eventually, for his beliefs he was sentenced to torture, and death. His name was Jesus Christ.

Yet here you are, advocating the persecution of others for their beliefs and opinions.

You know what will happen if you push to censor this person? He won’t think “oh, I was so wrong, I upset so many people, I will change my ways.”. No, he’ll say “wow, these people are getting really bugged by this, I’m really pushing some buttons and twisting some nipples. Awesome”.

Because that is exactly what he’s trying to do, he’s trying to get under your skin, and you’re letting him! If you push this, he’ll only want to take it further.

Another great thing that Jesus taught was to TURN THE OTHER CHEEK! Don’t let him annoy you, ignore him. Don’t waste your energy and time on someone who you disagree with. Go spend time with your families, go enjoy your hobbies, go better yourself.

The cold air in Canada must be affecting your common sense. Be good friend and love sinner and hate the sin…

I started to be afraid that this petition will go to waste. =( The emails from this petition are directed to some random people from google staff, who will probably ignore them… and YouTube itself seems to hide all contact emails. To report hate/abusive videos, one must actually view them and then “flag” them. I don’t want to watch these hateful videos, wasting my time and Internet connection, just to be able to “flag” them. May be there is another way to complain, but at the first glance at YouTube site I didn’t find it.
(This person will definitely be punished for his actions… and it will be better for him to be punished in this life, not in eternal life)

If I’m not mistaken, Google bought YouTube a few years ago. Thus, I don’t think they’ll ignore this petition (or at least I hope they don’t) if there are thousands upon thousands that sign it.

How persuasive of you, you must be a professional debater.

God is the only one who can judge us. You do not have the right to decide what others can and can not say. It’s a born right to every person to be able to express their opinions freely, the fact that you wish to take away those freedoms sickens me.

If you actually have anything worth while and intelligent to say on the subject, than I’d love to hear it. I’d like to try and understanding where your basing these beliefs, and how you justify them. But if all you have is pathetic insults, than don’t waste my time.

I understand what you mean. But there are lines that may never be crossed. Just as we may never allow the State to legalize abortion laws, we may never allow anyone to desecrate the precious body and blood of Jesus Christ. These are lines that may never be crossed by anyone. Those who do deserve censorship.

That being said, there is one question. How do we know that the host in these videos is consecrated? Anyone can make a host. The recipe is simple: flour, water and a pinch of salt on a flat surface for about 45 seconds. Then you cut it into the size you want.

I also agree that we need not go looking for every obscure demonstration of anti-catholicism. It will only drive us crazy.

Fraternally,

JR 🙂

Okay, I see where you’re coming from. But I think either way this guy will continue. If people ignore him, he may eventually get bored and just lose interest. But I think pushing to censor him will only motivate him to take things farther.

I think Youtube’s flagging feature is the best way to handle it. When you flag a video, it restricts the video from being viewed by anyone under 18 years of age, and it warns any viewer that the video contains offensive material.

After watching some of his videos, especially his most recent, it’s apparent that this guy is a complete moron. So I think it’s best to just ignore him. His last video shows how he likes getting the negative attention, so just don’t pay attention.

I will most definitely sign the petition and will pass it on to everyone I know. I watched one of his videos (curiosity got the best of me) and he goes up to communion, puts the host in his mouth, leaves the church, spits it out, and does what he pleases with it. Very very sickening.

I have signed it also, Just remember that in the future this person will stand before an all loving God and realize that because of the way he lived his life, he must slither into the depths of hell for all eternity. We should all get on our knees and pray for his conversion.

Experience has long taught me that the more you ignore (and had others ignore) someone, chances are you’re only going to make them crave your attention more. What are you going to do when they shall resort to something so grievous that even you couldn’t turn a blind eye anymore?

For your information this wasn’t the first time someone did this. A professor from Minnesota (I think his names was Myers or something) once stated on his blog about performing a similar stunt. Suppose this atheist was inspired by him (who too is another militant atheist)?

Are we going to wait for the anti-Catholic version of the Blasphemy Challenge? (Btw, you’d be surprised how many people answered to that)

Hitler once said that if you tell a lie many times enough, people will regard it as true. To me, that speaks of the power of propaganda. Sure people like fsmdude are not exactly well-known in the YouTube community, but I bet that even without the attention of Catholics there, he’ll eventually inspire someone else and then another, thus begins the destructive and unholy chain of anti-theism.

And when YouTube is filled with desecration videos just like it was filled with videos supporting the Blasphemy Challenge, can you still think that’s something easy to ignore?
