Sign(s) of the Cross

I was taaught to make the SOtC by head, heart (breastbone), left to right shoulder, and then @ the Amen, to touch my heart. I was told that this was a vestige of an old Eastern custom (my family emigrated from poland) of touching your right side in remembrance, honor, devotion, etc. of the spear that pierced Our Lord’s side.

I USED to teach in a “catholic” elementary parish School(grades prek-8) where the principal never said anything to two teachers (baptists) who told me I should not teach the sign of the Cross to the students. What were they doing working and living off a catholic School then if they hated the Sign of the Cross so much?? The worse thing was, that when the pastor wanted to not renew the contract for one of those teachers(she had become so crass, nasty, and beligerent towards me as a Catholic Religion teacher, that the pastor, after extensive consultation with his 8 member parish board decided NOT to bring that teacher back for the next year) the Diocese ordered him NOT to get rid of her nor the others who were anti-catholic. So much for a true and Catholic education in the “catholic” schools in the USA. The fact that these schools no longer teach catholic teachings is the fault of bishops like those.

ANYONE willing to defend the TRUTH of the Sign of the Cross???
 
Why do fundamentalist denomenations such as baptists, pentecostals, etc, dislike the sign of the Cross. It is THE SIGN OF THE CROSS THAT REDEEMED US!!!

You’ve been posting for a week now on this thread principally repeating and seeking comments that no one has offered and adding little or nothing new - interrupted only by a single post from someone else. Do you think that maybe the thread has run its course and it’s time to let it go?

Two points: wow, you actually spent time and energy counting how many days I posted here. Secondly why am I not shocked there is so liitle posting here: fundamentalist protestants despise the Sign of the Cross, while us Catholics would defend it with our lives.
