I being a recent convert to Catholicism have had struggles with the Marian Dogmas. However, I have recently been making strides in this area and am beginning to come to rest on the topic. I have been debating a little bit with a Prodestant Minister friend of mine (He’s in the Christian Reformed Church) and in my opinion have held my own. The topic came to the perpetual virginity of Mary, and a question came up I am not sure I have a great answer for.
Why did / does Mary need to be ever Virgin? Everyone agrees Jesus came of a Virgin birth, however this is not sufficient.
Thanks
