In my long life, I’ve learned that if I tell someone 4-5 times that something hurts my feelings and he argues that he is doing right by me and I should just take it because he is the authority on how to “better” me, I don’t need to try it another 50 times to have completed the experiment. I need to just decide if I’m happy with the idea of having him run that part of my life.I find this very interesting how different people make different observations. In her original post she mentioned that she and her boyfriend had discussed this “several” times. I interpreted that to mean 4 or 5 times. That seemed reasonable to me for them to bring up discussions over their concerns for the future and his concerns about her weight and health.
I wouldn’t consider that “over and over” again but for all I know he has been nagging her 50 or 60 times! All of us will interpret her only post in different ways but I guess that’s all we have to go on. I didn’t get the impression that he was pestering her but I could be wrong of course. God bless.
Adult humans who do not want to change almost never do. Adults who think they would be making a mistake if they were to change, even less so. The OP also reports that she feels bad about *herself *because of the way he talks.
Again, I’m usually a give-this-a-try-before-you-give-up type. Not this time.
