For a while now I’ve been wondering if anyone else gets them. I’m not talking about great visions or earth shattering phenomena. I’m talking about small little signs that you catch on the periphery of your consciousness. As an example, earlier on this forum someone had recommended that I check out the Divine Mercy chaplet. The chaplet was made by a polish nun named Sister Faustina. Earlier that week I saw a name Faustin elsewhere and had thought that was an unusual name, one I had never seen before.Obviously Faustin is a male name counterpart to Faustina, but that is the type of signs that I’m dealing with. Most of them aren’t meant to hit you over the head with clarity.
This is a very small incident and I know many skeptics would point to this being a coincidence. If these incidents were a rarity, I would say yes they are very possibly coincidences, but I believe (and have witnessed them) on far too many ocassions for them to be anything else but signs.
I was telling my son about keeping an eye out for these divine “hints” in his own life and has told me that he has witnessed them as well. Many times they are so subtle that you don’t recognise them until you’ve had time to recollect on the days events. I’ve just been through a dark period, during which I stopped trying to think of my beliefs, but all along this time these signs still occured (even though I ignored them).
I was wondering, is this a common occurence among believers. May this be a gift for some just as others receive other types of gifts from the spirit?Any others out there who can share experiences?
