“The Virgin Birth of Christ sends negative messages about our bodies, our world, and of our selves.”

Yes- indeed it does. And rightly so.

For God took the great sacrifice of becoming flesh (yes, sacrifice), to save our souls (yes, our bad selves) from a fallen world (yes, fallen).

And, it was fitting that He should be born of a pure Virgin, rather than “of will of the flesh”.

Except through Christ, we (born in sin) would be deserving of damnation.

Yes, the world, the flesh and the self all were in a bad (or wretched) state- and needed Christ’s incarnation to redeem them. But although the first bit may seem negative (and in a sense, it is), the last bit, REDEMPTION, makes it all wonderfully positive.

The way i understand it, Mary’s virginity doesn’t say anything about sex being bad, but instead points to the miracle of the Divinity of Christ.

Catholics do not hate the body. That is a heretical view.

Think about it this way: we say Mary was immaculately conceived, but she was conceived in the “ordinary way.”

God made us, male and female, then sent us forth to multiply. Sounds like God is all for procreation and the normal way of it. Catholic love God, their bodies and souls belong to Him and they do His will. That is why so many Catholics have large families:)
